Sand Blasting would be faster and a little better in that you get all the crap blasted off it too. Then you can fill in the big holes and sand them down to the same as the truck.

Then prime it in and give it a fine sanding. Then Prime it again. Sand it, whet sand it, and paint it with four coats of Teflon. 8-)

well sandblasting is probably end up doing i got access to one only bad
part i have to watch for is warping the metal while doing so this sand blasting hose is the size of a fire hose it will knock you back to so it has a lot of pressure so i dont know if i will use it the guy uses it for heavy equipment

the walnut shell is one of the best things to blast with
anyways yah thats what i am planning to do then i get it primed with etching primer cause of the lil rust spots i sanded out then after its primed i got a choice of hugger orange its a high quality paint brand name mercedes uses or a corvette orange with pearl either way i want orange

If you are blasting use industrial baking soda. I cant remember the chemical name for it, but Ive researched it recently and its the best way to strip a car/truck. Sand has a tendensy to hide in cracks until you start laying primer and paint. Then it decides to come out and ruin your paint work. This type of soda comes through the blaser as a ball the size of sand and penitrates the surface and brakes into powder when it hits the hard panel. It wont pit or worp and you dont have to prime the metal right away because the powder will deflect moisture up to 30 days. If you have a blaster who already has the equipment, they should be able to get the soda. Theres only one shop so far around here that does it, but I think that will change.

jk I know of one place for sure and possibly more that does soda blasting in medford area.

I heard the latest, greatest thing is PMB. Plastic Media Blasting. No heat, and works better than soda. Don't know of anyone around here who does it though.

if you really plan on going orange, think about the good ole black chev racing stripes..... good thing about that color is no one can back into you and say they didn't see ya.....

kinda like the fire hydrant i hit in the bi-mart parking lot in the burg back in 1999. never saw a jet of water that big before...the water bill was around 600 bucks for an hour of 10,000 ft2 a minute. picked up my camaro and pushed it forward 10 ft...in reverse.

I have a 6 inch grinder that I put a wire wheel on, and took off every bit of paint inside and outside of my truck. Even the bottom side went to bare metal. What a long process, but it sure made a nice paint job. It will be worth it. Just do a little each day, and think about that great paint job you'll have. 8)
