When I bought my v8 Luv it had two 4 cyl mustang radiators soldered together and a flexfan. I ditched the radiators and got an aluminum one from Summit. Now Im trying to decide if I want to run two small electric fans or one big one. I was thinking two would cover a greater area than one. Some of you v8 guys got any input and what youve done?

I have 1 fan in my truck (a 16") Running 2 isn't a bad idea. If one fails, you have some kind of cooling with the other. You can wire one direct and the other to a temp switch to come on when it's needed.

Thanks for the input. I like that idea of using two and putting one on a temp. switch. Great idea. Even if it never comes on Ill always have it there for peice of mind.

I have 1 big one on mine. I've never had a problem with it. My 12 hour trip home with the truck when I bought it at 3500 rpm's, it got a little warmer than I liked but never got hot.

What is considered HOT?
I've got an old Howe alum radiator now that is pretty beat with two 11" fans. Seems ok, typically gets about 170-180 and stays there, as long as I don't get stuck in heavy traffic anyway. I have a 160 thermostat.
What is the lowest temp thermostat you can get?

My Buick V-6 had a 160 thermostat in it and it would read 170-180. It could be that the gage is reading a little high. At least thats what i thought was happening with the Buick. I dont think you want to go lower on the thermostat. There is such a thing as running too cool. I'm looking in to buying a new multi-meter because the old, cheap one i had took a dump. The kind i want to get will also take a temperature reading as well using a probe. This way i can get a more accurate temp reading and compare it to the gage reading.
