As of March 14 at 7:53pm mt time I have decided to do a lil trick that we tried once on a old Toyota. Since I am begging for leg room and engine room in my LUV, I am going to make what you would call a pro-street LUV. I am going to take my long bed frame, move the body back and extend the nose 4". I will then be buying a frame rail kit and narrowing the rear half of the frame (under the bed) to about 2ft wide to allow extemely narrow rear end and coil over suspension. This will allow me to keep my 350 without having to chop the firewall. Im going to be going around to some of my local customizing shops and seeing if anyone will be willing to sponsor me, as I already am scheduled for some races this summer. What a way to advertise. Chevy luv that will race and beat your Corvette

if you are putting in a 350, you don't have to chop the firewall.

I already got the 350 in my LUV. No you dont have to chop it, unless you dont want to put a body lift on it to clear the tranny in the hump (350 turbo). But you must remember, I built mine by myself and with minimal tools. I used an old Yamaha forklift to manuver the motor into place, and the only thing that got my truck off the ground was a pair of small ramps. The water pump is about 1/2" away from the radiator, and the valve covers are 1/32" away from where the firewall use to be, the HEI dist is 1/2 inside the former firewall, 1/2 outside. But in all actuallity if you chop the original motor mounts off of the frame and weld new mount plates directly to the frame (unless your like me and have the truck on the ground, in which case the pan would drag) it would fit.
