I got the hood from unlimited products.
http://www.up22.com/

it is a rough finish, but that was expected. I think RATNLUV also has purchased one from them.

I have bought 2 a L-88 in the mid 90's that was total junk. Fit was terrible and Quality was worse. I contacted them when I saw the cowl hoods listed and they said they use a different process now and that the quality was much better.
Mine is around 6 or 6 1/2 " and had to be built. They offer the lower hoods as a one piece. Fit is much better and the overall quality has been greatly improved.(But it still will need plenty of work before it is ready for paint.) The underside is rough finish, and the place to mount the hood rod is there. They bolt on the original hinges or you can pin them on.
I had them leave the scoop as long as possible and I had to cut the brace where the original latch goes out for blower clearance. I added the brace to the inside and followed the contour of the scoop.
I was very hesitant to order from them again but I am glad I did now. It really helps the looks of my truck.
I will try and get some pics of the hood and send them to luv4me and maybe he can get them posted for me.
