Hey guys, I'm planning on doing some bodywork on the LUV before she gets painted up. I took the radio antennea out and now theres a hole there. How do i go about covering this over?? Its about and 1 1/2" in diameter. I don't need the radio anyways...you can't hear it over the exhaust....

Im assuming you dont have a welder. You could take the fender off and lay some fiberglass matt over it and use body filler on the top side to smooth it. Or you could slightly tap the edges of the hole down and use the matt on the top side without taking the fender off.

Oh i got a welder, arc and mig....hmm i never thought of welding a piece in there :? I was thinking just using body filler and some fiberglass maybe or something. This welder idea has opened up a whole new train of thought! :P

Cool, do it right and weld it!!! Just be careful not to get it too hot! Very thin sheetmetal on these trucks and they warp very easy!! Good luck! 8)

when you weld it up, use tack welds and switch sides, from one side to the other, that way it wont over heat and warp. then when you go to fill it with body filler, take a 36 grit wheel for one of the big grinders, and grind teh whole area, that will make the bondo stick better. then use a file board and some 80 grit to get it even, then some 220 grit to smote out the sand scratches, then fill any major sand scratches with spot putty. you prolly already knew, but just in case you didnt.
