So I just inherited a 1980 Luv 4x4. I am more into racing on the strip. I've never messed with a conversation like this. Anyone out there that can give me some information?

Save yourself a bunch of work. I'm sure there are 2WD LUV owners who would like to trade for a 4X4.

I would but it was my grandfathers so has sentimental value. I would rather stick tons of money and work into it.

It's going to be a lot of work. It's not all bolt off and bolt on either. Do a search, many have done it and every one wish's they didn't.

I purchased a 4x4, wanting to convert to 2wd. Ended up finding someone to swap me rolling chassis, and we kept our bodies.

If you plan on building this for the strip, and ditching the stock motor/trans, it wouldn't take much more effort to cut out the stock front suspension and add a universal Mustang II unit, or something along those lines.
