Thinking about painting my 76 luv olive green. Pretty much the same color as the F-Bomb Camaro. I'm wanting to make it look like the P-40 flying tiger planes. I think it would be pretty wild looking. I've already found a few places for the graphics I need. The wheels will be powder coated black pro stars. Ok. Whats your guys thoughts, suggestions and ideas. GO!

I'm just not a fan of green. The premise sounds cool though. If I liked green, it'd probably be something I could be in to.

Thanks for the input. Green is my favorite color. :ebiggrin. I thought I would give it a try with the p-40 graphics. Heck I might not even like it but Thats what they make sanders for. Lol

Not a LUV, but a friend of mine did a similar theme. He had the wheels plastidipped black at one time, but went back to the polished look...

I would paint it a solid color then use vynal for the graphics. As a pilot my self who flies a WWII vintage plane I have no desire to make a car look like one. The bottom line is its yours, do what with it you want, that is why we live in America.

That is my exact plan.....vynal over top of the paint. My frame is pretty much complete now. I still have to put floor pans in then comes the sanding and painting. I live in ohio so I was pretty excited to find a luv that wasn't rusted at all on the body. Only had to fix to small pieces on the frame....in front of the leaf hangers.

I saw go for it. I think that green would look good on a Luv. Post some picture when you get the paint job done.
