When my dad and I were swapping to a 9" ford in our small block LUV, we took two leaf springs out of the pack, and bolted on a set of slapper bars. After hot rodding it around a little bit, the remaining springs are now look like an "S"...that's no good. Are there any interchangeable leaf spring packs that would work in the LUV in lieu of actual LUV springs? Are there any other alternatives? Thanks in advance.

I have about the same setup on my truck. My 307 doesn't seem to have caused a problem. My 9 inch was out of Ben's old truck and had made many passes on the strip with a much more powerful motor than mine. Where do your slapper bars hit the spring? Mine are right up to the front mounting point.

We mounted the slapper bars where they would hit the spring pack's front mount. Maybe its the fact that the springs are 40+ years old?

The web page says to contact them if car is not listed.

Here is a worksheet.

The springs are ruined and cannot be measured. They are twisted! Can anyone give me measurements? I have called Calvert and they cannot help me without these.

They have the measurements . I have ordered several sets from them . You really need to mark the front center line crosssection of the front spring eye perch and swap the front perch mount out to the Afco . This will allow you to run a common width spring and allow a Caltrac bar also .
