I recently bought a 78 and it already has the top cut off but I need to finish it. I have no seals with it and it only has two of these cheap plastic covers. I'm not planning on using the caps I'm going to weld theme shut. So does anyone have any ideas as to where I can get the rest of this "kit" so I can finish the top.

They have been discontinued for a long time (like everything for a LUV), but you should do a search for "ratical convertible tops" The company still has some kits available, but it is a company I personally would never recommend to anybody which is why I didnt post a direct link, but it is probably your only hope. They are in AZ and have changed names too many times to count. If you cant find it PM me.

yea ive talked to them and they wont part out a kit and they want 1300 for it which i think is outragous

Yep figured something like that, I think the kits were around $400 back in the day (I helped 3 of our club members install them on thier trucks). After I tried to order a set of lowering blocks from them in the early 90's and they wanted to charge me $45 for shipping I told them they could put them somewhere and am amzazed they are still ripping people off 20 years later. Guess thier mascot is a rat for a reason.

WTF! I contacted them just a year or two ago and the kits were going for around $400.

I googled them this morning and the kits were $399 on their site. I remember them from the 80's and they had a spotty record then too.

Is this the company you talked to? I hate to share their link, because of what Tilted said, but I can't see why they would tell you that much when they have it listed for $400.

Shipping is so much more expensive these days...
