well i found out today my passenger side leaf spring is broken, ive got one from my parts truck but i cant get the bolts out on both trucks. looks like they are welded or pressed in. just looking to swap the springs over. anyone know how to get them out? im thinkin im gonna have to cut them

The front bolt on the leaf spring can be tough to get loose. A little rust and it tries to become one with the rubber spring bushing. It can be done though. Best bet is to replace the spring bushings once you do get them free. Poly bushings work much better and I think I got mine from www.independent4x.com way back.

I would try a little PB blaster to loosen up the rust and put a nut on the end of the spring bolt to save the threads and hit it hard.

thats weird, I pulled my springs out with out any problems other than using some wd-40 and a short breaker bar!

If you need a set of springs already out let me know?

Just to be sure, you removed the 2 smaller bolts on the outside of the bracket that hold the flange in? Not trying to be an smarta$$ just covering the basics first.

There are 2 bolts on either side of the pin for the leaf spring. If one is broken off that may be a clue to your problem.

got the 2 bolts out. i still havent been able to get it to even budge
