So when i purchased my partially dis assembled luv it came with a complete in box 3" body lift that's old. My problem is that I am not really wanting to drop the steering wheel down to match... But don't want the hassle of a tilt column ...I come from the jeep world (have two now)...i noticed that my steering shaft to the box uses two universal joints one on each end. Does anyone else think this might be a viable option to solve the dilema?

Mine already had a body lift on it when I got it. It also had a bench seat that did not belong. I could barely get my leg between the seat and wheel to get in. I installed some bucket seats from the junk yard, and a smaller than the stock one, Grant GT wheel. Steers nice, and I can get in and out of the truck.

If you can fab and weld, two "u joints" on the shaft could work well for keeping the wheel up in it's original position.

I was thinking about going and grabbing one off a cherokee at the yard since the shafts seem to be of similar size and the cherokee shaft uses two pinch clamps one on each end.... :?:
