Blocks will only lower it. The axle is on top of the leaf springs on these trucks. You need shackles to lift the rear.

Shackles or SOA in the rear.

I have heard of people indexing the torsion bars to get more lift in the front.

I just went through the process of adding about a 2 1/2" lift on my 1980 Luv Machine. I turned the torsion bars clockwise about 6 turns and shackled the rear. After a little research, I ended up buying Mr. Gasket universal shackles for about $35. The only problem with those were the holes. At 7/16", they werent even close. So I had to buy a 3/4" drill bit, 4-3/4"x4" grade 8 bolts with nuts and washers. Total time i had invested in the actual work was probably three hours including fender and shackle trimming for the 215 tires.
