would be a pretty cool project 8)
what you would probably have an easier time doing is get a long bed luv (longer frame to work with) put a short bed on it and extend the cab to fill the extra 12" of space, or bob a long bed 6" and add 6" to the cab?
looks like your pretty much wanting to cut the cab in half and add metal (and glass) to extend it about 6".. you could possibly cut it behind the door frame and add the filler metal there so you dont need to have new windows cut and modify all the extra stuff that goes with it. if you took the time to smooth everything out and get the body lines right it would look good.
if your wanting to cut it more to the middle and add to it there the to do list is quite a bit longer, new windows, door frame, door seals, window mechanical component mods etc etc...

I was thinking of just doing the frame to. i think it would look good if the cab was cut in half and a donor parts truck was the donor for the 6"-12" . the doors dun the same.

The glass would not be hard i know a guy that can cut me 2 new glass.
the window crank if i dont go over 12" i think it might not need to be modify. ill be using the old style doors.

Iv seen truck that have had the cab extended by just adding on to the back of the cab. it just dont look right.

a donor truck completely changes things
i do agree completely that the extended cabs look odd with the long back even some factory ones like the nissan 720 king cab looks ridiculous... clearly you were able to drop a v6 into your luv so a bit of time cutting and welding shouldnt be too much of a burden especially with a friend who can make new windows for you. going to be tricky to match up that body line down the doors but still not to much trouble with a pair of donor doors... think of all the leg room you will be able to add with a 6" extension 8O at 5'8 im about as tall as i would call really comfortable in a luv... moms ex was 6'3 tried to drive it and looked about as fit as a grown man on a trike.

Well i think i got how long to make it. looks good at 7" . a stock luv door is 3' .
at 12" the cab just would not look right at all. a 4' long door
6" was nice but 8" was ok so 7" will be.

i think im going to need to get a spot weld drill bit.
how hard is it to get the top of the to come free from the back wall?

I remember seeing one in a magazine years ago where a guy added to the back of the cab with a longbed frame and a shortbed on it. It looked damn good too. It's been too many years to remember what mag it was though.
