here's your best solution right here done with a toyota pickup.

EDIT: sorry it's a nissan in this one but the same guys did it first with a toyota

well his toyota failed as i recall. but the nissan must be about the same size/weight. now where do i procure sizeable buoys ?... my ex girlfriend? :lol:

If you are serious and you say you are, you would first have to consider how much floation it would require to keep the truck afloat without being to high in the water (wouldn't want your luv boat to capsize), then you have to figure out how to balance it to float level. Once those small things are figured out, next comes actually figuring out and executing getting it to float. You would have to snorkel the intake, waterproof the ignition and get your exhaust exit up high enough to be out of the water. If you get this far, next would you control it while afloat. Sounds like you are gonna need a slide rule, a crapload of pencils and a platoon of engineering staff to work this one out... good luck

Yall are over thinking this, 1. buy industrial sized saran wrap 2. wrap entire truck 3. cut escape hatch out of roof 4. drive it off in deep lake to try it out 5. Done

or..................buy a ferry. The boat kind not the little flying around kind.........well i guess the little flying around kind would work too, you just my not have any teeth left by the end of the project..........thats if you have teeth now :ebiggrin

now we're talkin' this is just the kind of brain storming i was looking for. So I've got the saran wrap. I've got a snorkel and some flippers, maybe I can attach them to the drive wheel for propulsion?
