Found a great treatment / chemical for rust. It's non toxic. It's called "The Must for Rust" It comes from a company in Georgia that also makes Krud Cutter. It also will leave a inhibitor to rust if you just spay it on and let it dry. Works for months even when outside. A 32oz spray bottle should cost approx $12.00. I've found it at several Ace hardware stores.

I've used that stuff. It's great for a little surface rust or while waiting to primer bare metal. I've found that using molasses works way better though. and cheaper. 10 parts water 1 part molasses in a big garbage can for 2 weeks. completely strips rust
