Hey Guys,

Well i been thinking on doing some body mods on my LUV. The most intriguing one has to be the flip fornt hood. Does any body have any insight on how this is done and what is needed....any info would be great! Thanks!

you have to mold your fenders and hood all together into once piece and put a frame underneath it. then build a hinge kit that attaches at the front of the frame. that used to be the hot thing to do to a car especially ones with 1 piece fiberglass front ends. Jegs used to sell a tilt off front end hinge kit but I dont see it in the catalog anymore. Most people that I know fabricated their own anyway

There is a cool stepside red 8 second LUV that I have seen in the magazines that had a cool setup. not only did it have a tilf off front end but the hood also opened the stock way too.

Sorry guys, i guess i should have been clearer....im talking about just he hood flipping forward.....like pivoting where it latches. and latching where it currently pivots. Theres a few like that in the Gallery and i was jsut wondering how you go about doing that.....But he whole thing flipping forward would be cool.......

yeah, sounds like he's got an 81 luv or 81+ isuzu...those hoods open the std way.

As far as your answer to getting the hood to tilt forward...you might take a look at the buick hood set ups from the late 80's early 90's...most all of them tilt forward... go to a u-pull-it and study the operation...most of what you'll need is bolted on tot he buicks....

Thats an 81?? Mines identical but white. Mines a 1980 and thats what the liscence and registartion say on it......Is there a possibility that maybe i got an early 81 model under the 1980 year??? Thats the only way i can see that happening...unless they got my liscence and registration screwed up......

I will double check the numbers on the truck but im pretty sure it says 1980....
