Ok so I'm wanting to clean up the bottom of my bed. 35 yrs of dirt, oil and grim I'm guessing it's about 20-30 pounds of crud that is just slowing my lil 1.8 down... 8O ..., anywho~ anyone know of any good de-greaser, or an easier way of removing this crap other than a flathead screwdriver and a lot of elbow grease...?

Gonna sound crazy but a few cans of brake cleaner would cut most of it away

I don't think it's just oil, dirt and grease..., I'm thinking tar... The break cleaner cuts the top layer, but doesn't penetrate... Purple power engine degreaser has the same effect..., would a steam preasure washer work better I'm thinking~

That looks like undercoating on there to me. The guys back east will know what that is. If it is that will take some work to grind off. I would try the power washer and see what you get off with that first.

Be glad it is on there, your bed would look a lot worse if someone hadn't of done that.

yea if its like mine it the under coating and looks like crap. You can go over it with some Raptor or rubber undercoating but the only way to get it off is with a grinder, a wire wheel even has a tough time with it.

I was thinking the same thing about the wire wheel, I bet it got gummed up real quick. I'll prolly just hit it real good with a pressure washer and maybe touch up some of the bare spots~ thaks all for you assistance~
