alright... i am thinking i want to buy a luv without an engine. since they can be had for next to nothing... and then do what i have wanted to do and throw an SBC in it and tear some tires up!!!
my current luv would be running a 283 and 5 speed but my dad refused to relp me pay for anything other than the original engine and parts (since it is my first truck... owned many dirtbikes but its the first truck... i LUV it!). the stock engine runs well enough since it is new block and head with all new internals and such the crank has 275,000 miles on it BUT WAS STILL WITHIN THE FACTORY SPEC!!!
anyway back to the topic...

if i am going to drop a SBC350 or whatever i decide to run. maybe a 283. smaller cubes a lil better fuel economy... still would tear it up and be cheap to get parts for...
i would like to set th eluv up with a one piece front clip.. as in weld the fenders, front face metals all welded together, on a front hinge so it will all still flip forward

to make engine work easier and to add to the custom look..

what im wondering is is it really as simple as tack welding the parts together and making new mounts, and a sturdy front hinge

wow my $h!t is off the hook compared to that article.lol I retained ALL my inner support structure and 99%of my inner fenders. still really a work in progress but I'M pleased with my work
my minitruckin buddy laughed at me for keepin the inner fenders. but I like a clean(and dry)motor.
and I like the idea of keeping SOME of the crumple zones.
I really need to start a build thread for the walk thru convertable, and my extended cab.....

P.S. THANKS ctmandu

Hi Catmandu, what are the chances you would throw me on the e-mail list. Karlsout06@yahoo.com The flip front end would be awesome and if you have the plans...........
