What are you guys with stock leaf springs using for traction? Ladder bars, traction bars? How big of a slick? Thanks, Bryan

Running a 26x10 slick here, on a 15" rim.

I made my traction bars because I counldn't find any that fit the way I wanted. I ended up welding a piece of 2x2, 190 wall, square stock to the bottom of my u-bolt plates. The 2x2 steel has a rubber snubber at the end that lines up with the front leaf spring bushing on the frame.

This setup works the best so far. 4.56 gears, 12lbs. of tire pressure, around 500hp, no tire spin, 1.59 60ft. times with a small tire warming burnout.

I run a 28x10 Goodyear slick and I softened the rear suspension up by removed all but 2 leafs out of the pack. I put some cheap pep boys 50/50 shocks on the back and use a Lakewood slapper bar with no gap between the rubber snubber and the spring. for the strip i take the rubber snubbers out and install a bolt and put a 1/2" gap between the bolt and the spring. I preload the right front torsion a lot on a nitrous pass and soften it up for a motor pass.

a friend of mine has 3 leafs in the passenger side leaf spring pack and 2 leafs in the drivers side pack because his truck torques to the passenger side so hard. This is an old Mopar trick. like that used in their factory super stock leaf springs. He will soon be installing an airbag also. Although every truck is going to launch differently according to what motor, setup, this is all tried and true stuff that has worked for me for the past 17 years. Theres some ideas for you to play around with until you get the right combo for your truck
