hey guys. im not sure if its standard or not, but my 79 mikado had the th250 with a short tail. well i got a practically free rebuilt th350.... problem is its a long tail. so my drive shaft needs to be 3 inches shorter. there is a local shop that said they could cut my drive shaft so everything would fit.

that just doesnt seem very precise...

it there a drive shaft that is meant for chevy luvs with a long tail transmission?

If you give them the correct measurement, the cut/rebalanced shaft will be fine...

yea just have it cut. I do it all the time.

pull the yoke about half way out and measure center to center.

chop, and all done.

A few months back I had one shortened, balanced, two new u-joints for under $100.
