My 80 4x4 has a few electrical problems I can't seem to figure out.

Things that don't work are; wiper motor and washer, horn, parking lights,
dome light and instrument lights.

The blower motor and headlights do work though. All the fuses seem to be good. Is there a main fuse or relay that I'm overlooking? I read in a nother post somewhere (which I can't find now) that there is a notorious problem with the fuse block having a bad connection. It mentioned pulling it apart and resoldering it. Is there a "how to" thread that anyone knows about concerning this proceedure? Any other thoughts on this subject?

Thanks, 80luv4by4

I think the notorious Honda main relays have the same poor design, riveted together parts. Amazing how such a bad design never hurt their reputation. Your 80 may have a improved design. If not, there isn't much to fixing it. It has been over 5 years since I did mine and the details have slipped my mind. I know once I remove it completely, the metal parts came out of the plastic housing easily. Maybe with the fuses out, squeeze the clips together. I them wire brushed each part a little and applied solder to the joint between the pieces. Reassemble and power into the fuse holder makes it back out.

You may still have other problems, but it is a start.

If your 80 is anything close to mine the best solution for mine was to replace and rewire a different(salvage yard) fuse box mine came from a ford ranger which allowed for a few xtra fuses to add some assorories and keep all the fuses together ie fog lites, stereo,cb ,etc
