So, anybody know besides getting add-a-leafs if there are compatible leaf springs from other vehicles like an S-10 or something that will work on a 78 LUV? I wanna raise the back up a little bit but I don't want to have to get a bunch of add on stuff.

Couldn't you just get/fabricate some longer spring shackles? Way back in the old days of jacking up cars (the rear end only), that was a method often used. Of corse if they get too long the rear end will wander side to side a bit. But I don't think you want it up THAT high.

Getting your springs re arched by a spring shop is good. Adding blocks are the cheapest way.

I thought he was in from down under. It works the other way down there, doesn't it?

Brain fart.

Sorry PapaG, couldn't resist! Actually a set of air shocks work out very well, I can raise the rear of my 78 stepside a good 6" by inflating my air shocks and these are pretty cheap on e-bay. Mine have lasted over 10 years and still don't leak, pretty good for under $100.!
If you really want to raise it higher you can relocate the springs from under the axle to on top of it, just needs new spring saddles, BUT you will have to calculate the correct drivelshaft angle to avoid driveline vibrations and u-joint wear.
