well what we have done b-4 is to cut most of it out but leave a lil bit at the top so the fender has just the part for the fender to bolt to it looks good when the fender is on and then take a small square tube weld it to the underside of that i dont have any pics but do it when we do body drops and bag jobs

My inner fender wells are totally gone. They just bolt to the core support and has a bolt where it bolts to the cowl and 2 bolts at the rear bottom of the fender.

Woot- that would be good if they're replaceable, mine have undercoating on them and I've wanted to clean them up and paint them. Maybe get some spares then swap them out. Of course my luck would be that 72's are not replaceable.

What did you do with the motor compartment when running no inner wells? i got sheet metal exp. and was going to do some out of that but would like ideas. pics would help. Will have a small block and for now running the torsion bars. No doubt replacing would not be a bad idea either. The stock spray in liner is a nightmare to remove to make it look decent. Is there any company's selling new core supports or is a donor support the best idea? THX

Not much for bolts holding the fender on... Early 50's chevy trucks bolted into the cab and a lip that was on the inside of the firewall. I had wondered about doing something like. My truck is here now so I am going to look at it...... Fender well headers would only take some of of it out?

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

ok thanks. Yeah fender well headers seemed like the way to go and if i do all my own sheet metal i can work around the headers easily and make it look clean the wells of these trucks are hard to make look good in stock form,

I have a 1976 Chevy luv truck and looking for front end parts. Fenders and grill or maybe whole truck for parts. I teach the automotive class and the students are helping me rebuild it. It was my first truck twenty years ago that I used to street race. It has been setting for 10 years and needs alot of work. We plan on narrowing the frame and rear. Then installing a 500 cubi. engine with 1000 hp. This is something that keeps the kids interested in the class and trains them at the same time. If you have any share parts that you might want to get rid of let me know.
