Like the title says, I'm doing some rust repair on my floor pan. My body mount is rusted out fairly bad. Before I go trying to rebuild it I want to see some pictures of a non rusted unit. I want to rebuild it properly.

Also should I just jack up the cab to remove the downward force prior to cutting off the floor pan at the body mount? I'm worried that once I cut it the cab will sag slightly, so I want to be sure that I re-weld the new piece in at the proper height relative to the rest of the cab. This is just my beater so I'm not going to perfect, but I am going for structurally sound and safe lol.

Here are some pics of the damage

This is the major rust damage. The other side is similar but not as bad.

Here is the body cab mount. I need a picture of one in good normal condition. Mine is so bad I can't tell what it was supposed to look like when new.

This is the front and rear seat mounting holes. The front one is caved in all strange. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like new? I need to hammer it back to shape and rebuild it. The rear one still has it's original shape, just needs some metal replacement.

Thanks in advance for any pics or help. Also what gauge sheetmetal are you guys using to repair this properly?

Later this morning I plan to pull the cab off of the frame of my son's 1978 LUV. I need a 10mm flare wrench to remove
the brake lines before I can lift it.
The floor is good, so I will try and get you some pictures from top and bottom of the driver's side.

That would be very helpful! thanks in advance.

I got some time this evening to start cutting things up. It's scary how bad the cab mount was. It was basically just sitting in there, not actually connected to anything anymore. I already started mocking up the new cab mount.

Here are some pics of the carnage. I'm a newb to welding so my welds look like crap but I do get the proper penetration.

Hole in the floor. Areas in red I still need to chop out, area in blue is the seat mount that's all messed up. I'm not sure how to proceed with the bent up seat mount issue.

Old cab mount. It simply fell out when I pulled out the floor pan.

Start of the new cab mount. I need to get some thicker steel for the center section tomorrow then I weld it up, drill a hole, and get started on the rest of the damage.

If anyone has any ideas for the bent seat mount I'd love to hear them. Also any pictures of a non-bent floor pan are very appreciated!

Thanks again.

I took three pictures. Hope they can help. If you need more of a particular area let me know.
I took a couple from underneath, but it is too dirty to see much...

The first is from outside the driver's door looking in.

Thank you so much! That is going to help out a ton. I didn't realize just how far down my seat mount is bent. I might have to go junkyard hopping to see if I can find a non-rusted mount. Rebuilding my own might be difficult.

I'm in northern Utah.

I've already bought the materials to build a new floor pan, so I probably don't want to pay for another. That said, if you are willing to sell just the seat mount area for a reasonable price I'd be interested.

Just an update on my progress. Got the inner rocker replaced, just need to clean up the welds a bit and then coat everything with rust protection.

Now I just need to drill the cab mount hole from below, install the new rubber pads, and then finish up with the new floor pan.
