for those who hace the shaved handles....
do you use a kit or did you have to buy piece by piece?
where did or do you reccomend purchasing them?

No nobody make a kit to shave them. you would have to make your own. by using extra doors you can make your own patch panel. cut a section out in front of the handle. that should have the same conture and trim to fit then weld in.
Image you can cut that section and use that. thats what I was thinking of doing and I've seen other people do the same on other trucks. hope this helps and anyone have a better way and easier way help out. hope I didnt confuse you :D

I have a few of the door solenoids, these are the ones used in K9 cop cars. They are super powerful though so you have to be very very careful to adjust them just right, otherwise they will rip the attaching parts right off. They are new, still in a package, solenoids w/cables, $10 ea, plus $5.00 shipping. Can send pictures if you like.
But I cannot over emphasis how powerful these are!!!!

the shop i work for has a kit we use in all kinds of cars and trucks it comes with solenoid wire a hidaway back up button all the stuff you need.on the luv it dont take much to open these doors if you like i can get a price tomorrow i shaved my doors a few years back and made my own weld in panels the key is to weld (tack weld)them in slow and all the way around take your time slower is faster and when you grind the welds down take all the time you need if the metal gets to hot it will warp and do it in the shade keep it kool i hope this helps if you have any ? please ask and if i cant help i am sure some one here will ok ttyl

remarkable it was your truck that i got the idea from, so ya if your shop sells a kit then i would like to know how much it is.
i am fair with a welder and have a little hobby wire feed that might just do the trick.
and i like the idea of having a back up button.

so srry my comp went down then i forgot ok for both doors the popper kit is 150.00 and 200.00 for the heavy poppers then all you need is the metal to do the doors
