When installing my stereo what color is the wire on the ignition that i use to conect to my stereo?

well that depends on which wire you are trying to hook up, the 12 v switched or the 12v constant, if you have a test light it wopuld help immencely

It is the 12v switched and my test light has gone MIA!

well without a test light its kinda difficult to find which wire on the ignition comes on when the key is turned to acc. there are other ways tho, if your fuse box is labeled pick one of the fuses that you know only comes on with the key like the heater or turn signals and run a wire to that, also that way the wire is fused and "most likely" wont burn anything up
