If you do a search, there has been a lot of posts on this topic. I bought mine from Carquest. Wasn't original but real close.

same here. I ended up getting some stuff like the original and also some of the adhesive type so i could put some extra in spots that i thought it needed. if you plan on driving it more than five miles a day in the rain, snow or plan on washing it you must have the weatherstripping. I thought I could get by without it but the first time it rained my door panels got soaked in water and my gauges all got wet. just check out the part stores and take what you can get.

Try Soffseal.com, part number 9004. About $80 for the pair.

I got the Soffseal the other day. How did you make corner fit. I tried to wrap around the corner but that didn't look like it wood last. The next step would be to cut at 45's and glue the ends together. It would have to be some strong glue. I'll wait to see what others have done before I cut up any more of the door seal.

that is why i use the dodge d-50 truck seals... they have the corners and fit great... and the wrecking yards only charge about $5 for them

I was able to cut the 45, and glue it with that yellow, stringy 3M glue for interiors. I did two trucks and I think one didn't hold, because I did a crappy job on the cut.

Ctmandu's D50 idea sounds great. Even you just used the corner and did a straight cut to glue into your new seal for the rest of the door.

When I glued in mine from Restoration Specialities, I just streched it right around the corner. I hope this will work out ok for me. So far it has held up, but I haven't had it outside yet because the truck isn't ready yet.

You can get new replacement door seals for that era Chevy full size truck at any of those restore/ parts places.

Don't order these. I did, they aren't even close to the originals.

Restoration specialties #990021 were a great fit, but no molded corners, so I just stretched it around the corner. Don't forget the adhesive. I used 22 ft for both doors.

The door seals are a problem with most trucks, not specific to the '79. And yes, Restoration Specialties is the place to go. I think when I ordered I got 25 feet per truck so I would not run short.

your welcome ...Just sharing the info to help these trucks along.

the only part i wasn't completely sure was the corners are NOT formed and not sure how they sit .

i imagine they could be cut and melted / glued
