ok I'll have pics today sometime . The 79' 4x4 Luv is now 2150 IH red! thinking about some pin stripes here and there. took over 6months to get to this stage and I've only drove the truck once! ha ha ha. Guess I'll be in for a surprise pretty soon when she hits the road. had to let the front end back down a half inch cause I put all new inner and outer tie rod ends and didn't like the rough ride of cranked up torsion bars. so hopefully it will ride and handle really good. stayed tuned for some pics later today . I hope you like it as much as I do.

Do to my inexperience, the truck isn't a show truck. but it looks drivable and I just took it for a spin and the new front end parts from florida make it handle like a sports car and I feel safer driving it too. Here is the long awaited grand finally.

well luv owners have to make do with what they can get. I'm happy with the way it turned out. The paint is #2150 IH Iron Guard enamel for international tractors. dad added some hardner with every fill of the spray gun so that should help. we didn't use clear coat because its too dangerous without a respirator and proper ventalation. we had those paper masks and a 40x40 shed with a 20' door for ventalation, definately not proffesional at all... not bad for a couple of hicks l.( me and dad) my dad was a big help providing me with a place to work and he let me use some of his tools. but more importantly his guidance was very helpful even though he himself had never redone a pickup or painted one. He likes to restore farmall tractors. oh and thanks luv guys for the tips and advice. If I hadn't of accidently found this site, my truck would have been sold 6months ago for scrap. THANK YOU LUVTRUCK.com

Well now that turned out real good but now it makes me wonder how my 4X4 would look in John Deere green or Allis Chalmers orange then maybe a pull off

Tastefully done parts substitution. There is a post on here where a guy put in an S-10 grille and it looks like crap, but you made it fit. More power to ya. Farmall red's a good color too.

Great Job! There is something off on the back bumper, but i think its more just that there is not license plate on it, and the gaps for hold it in place is whats throwing it off to me, You really made it look like those bumpers were made for that truck. Great color also. I would still take it to a car show, not to win anything but not to many people see them around here so it does not matter.

Any other plans for your Luv?

That's the same paint I used on my 81 4x4 Though yours came out much better. I did mine in my side yard...... in about 3 hours.

The funny thing though my wife works for Deere....... I offered to go green she said no way would she want Deere colors on a POS like my truck. So out came the rival color.......

thanks for the compliments guys. I've contemplated the idea of selling it but I kinda like the Luv. I've had better luck getting parts than I thought I would. I bought some front tie rods inner and outer from some dude in florida off E-bay for $54 dollars. They turned out to be a big waste of time because one of the balls popped out of the socket and the front wheels went opposite directions. i just got a wheel alinement too. HA  I just went to napa and ordered the best ones that money could buy and an alternator that would probly power a D-7 CAT!! I guess some times a good deal is too good to be true anyway. I'm used to big heavy cadillacs that float down the road. These Luvs are far from that but the ladies LOVE that truck. I guess it's so small and ugly that they think it's cute! 8)
