Hello, new member here with a question. I have 5 luvs and NO good usable frames. Too rusty so I am looking in to swapping a Luv body and stepside bed to an S10 frame. Has anyone here done this? I know the frame will need to be shortened a few inches so I might as well narrow it when I shorten it. Plus all the body mounts will need to be added to the s10 frame too. Should I keep looking for a GOOD Luv frame or swap it for an s10 frame?

If you can do fab work and weld, I'd say do it. I know at least one member on here has put the LUV cab and bed on an S10 frame but, he did not shorten it. The rear wheel did not sit in the well centered, and it looked a little funny, but it worked.
Search around with the search icon on here, you'll find lots of info. And.... Welcome!

You could also use a Trooper frame witch is real close fit.

If you are going to do all the work of modifying a S10 frame, why dont you just use a Luv front clip and build the rest from scratch?
