I believe Hotrod80 has those on his. He's been off the board lately due to some out standing projects. I've been very impressed with his set up...

Competition Engineering did make something like the Cal Tracs. Last time I looked I couldn't find them.
Also a guy on ebay was selling plans to dyi then.. Couldn't find them. I think he may be on racing junk... I'll see what I can find...

Every thing I have read about them say they work. II have seen them at the races on cars, just have not ever went and talked to the racers...

SLIDE-A-LINK

http://www.competitionengineering.com/catalog/CategoryDisplay.asp?CatCode=13116

No one lists a Luv Truck, but you would think they would have enough requests to male up a set.
Same with Calvert Racing... I don't know why they didn't get hotrod80's right.

I've tried the slide-a-links on a couple of S10's. I didn't like them...

Sorry i've been off for a bit . getting the house fixed , working 72 hour weeks and winter teardowns etc.

Slide-A-links have a rubber/poly bushing in them . I don't care for them also .

Caltracs work good , but have limited adjustability although i've been 1.38 60' . I am happy with mine . I have Caltracs , split monos and cheap chevelle drag shocks made to work . I think they make a Rancho 9000 adjustable for a Luv and im looking into that .

The Daggers that Mytmouz's buddy makes are a much better design . The more i work with the Caltracs the more i see how his ideas are an extension of the caltracs design . I would say daggers could have like 20 or more points of adjustment , were Caltracs have like 6 to 8 . The problem is the R&D to build them for a Luv .

Anyway i've been 6.38 @108 and change on a 26" slick . They work alot better than stock , as i was breaking alot of parts before .

Hey LuvProjects thanks posting a that link. Did any of you that put one of those on find a problem with ground clearance?

You will have less ground clearance. Also, the pic depicting the bar is showing the bar snubber contacting the leaf. It should be long enough to contact the spring eye on a high horsepower vehicle as the spring will eventually bend. However, the spring can bend in front of the spring perch due to axle wrap occasionally, even if the bar is longer as described. In my opinion, the caltracs and slide a links are a better option. I had a '73 Z/28 back in the mid 80's that had a 427bbc and a 4 speed. It had a set of the Lakewood slappers and during one particularly hard burnout on a night run, both bars bent and stuck in the pavement. I don't think the 4 banger will cause a problem either way though...

Here are the DYI ones I was thinking about.

http://rodplans.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66&Itemid=73

We would run slapper bars all the way up against the spring at one time.

There was a guy in Texas that ran as "Slapper Bar Bob" I think that was his name... He was supposed to be a hell of a racer.

PapaG, I had a '69 Firebird set up as a dirt dragger once that the snubber was under the frame where the door hinges were on a set of homemade bars. This was to have the torque help keep the front end up so the front end wouldn't drag on the high center between the ruts...
