Only had my Luv for a week, and havent even looked, so...
How do you raise the front end? It has the stock torsion-bar suspension.
Is it easy? any special tools? Front is slammed now, and rides like a low-rider, gotta get it up about 2".

or don't jack it up and turn them bolts (about 3' back on the frame from the front wheels) until you are blue in the face and turn until you achieve the desired ride height.
if you have air tools it will raise it faster!

Whenever you adjust the height you should loosen those bars in the front, I forget what they are called. The ones that are hooked up to the very front of the frame right at the bottom. Once your are done tweaking the height, retorque them back to spec. If you skip this step it can put quite a bit of stress on those bars (especially when lifting) and affect your alignment. That brings up the next point, once you are done adjusting, get the thing to the alignment shop. Changing the height changes the angle of the wheels and you'll be buying new tires before you know it. I would think most alignment shops can do the whole works for you height and all. When I had my 79 lined up the last time they asked if I wanted anything done with the height, but your shops may vary.

If you need to know the torque spec on those bars I can dig out my shop manual (or anyone else here can) and tell you, but anyone who owns a LUV should pick up a Haynes or Clymer shop manual. It is well worth the price.

Another tip I just remembered, put some blocks under the frame while you do this and start by hitting the adjustment bolts with some penetrating oil. I had one of the torsion adjustment bolts on my 79 4x4 snap when I was dropping it back down to sane heights and if I had not put a block under the frame I would have been a goner.

Like I said, havent even looked yet (I'm at work), but
which way do I turn the nut/bolt or what ever is under there?
clockwise or counter c.w. to raise it? The truck is up in the air
now, with the front end hangin, so I dont wanna be going the
wrong direction and brake a bolt or something, if its binding
or bottomed out.
I will definetly pick up a manual on Luvs.
Thanks for the help guys.

if you look under it you can tell, but I think they turn counter-clockwise to lower.
whichever way it is, the less stress (twist) that is on the bars the lower it will be.
