So i have been for some time now throwning around the idea of making some moulds of my truck's fenders and hood, possibly some other part too like mabye door skins, and cloning the visor i have on my cab, any one know of or have a source that sells these things cause its alot of work to make moulds and if i can buy them at a reasonable price i might just go that route, let me know i think this is somethign that could really be good for people looking to "break the mould" so to say... i crack my self up... but seriously if nothing else shoot me some ideas mabye and this summer if i get the time/space/money this might be somehting i would do and likely sell to people if my first or if need be second batch are a success....

I would like to get a new hood to mount my new/used scoop on. I my also be interested in fenders and bumper. Like 158Luv don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them. Let us know if you get anything figured out.

Yeah i was more just curious if anyone else found anythign cause if i do this then im going to just make the moulds as said before and fab up some fenders and a hood... There was a post as i was kinda lookin around the other day about a guy that built a custom bumper it turned out really nice, you might also looking around the scrap yards for something, ive found some nice looking bumpers on other cars that look like with minimal fabbing that they could be put on my luv... And as a side note, i had a dodge neon front bumper (1st gen) and with a little shaving on the side where it wraps around the fenders it would fit perfectly right over the top of my messed up front bumper, and you could use the neon bumper brackets to mount it to the stock bumper, I wish i still had the bumper but space didnt permit, and i wasnt ready to do that kind of body work yet... hell at the time i didnt even have the cab back on my luv yet

anyway ill keep a note of this post and if i get somethign working for me then ill let everyone know, i like working with fiberglass, and everyone thinks im crazy for it, but if i get into making some moulds and thus forth fenders and hoods there isnt any reason why i couldnt work into even more parts... I even thought of making replacement headlight surrounds...

I used to be involved pretty heavily with the AMC crowd, if I recall correctly the AMX folks were very unhappy with hoods from these guys. You might want to go trowl some of those forums to double check...

This was nearly 10 years ago, and things change. Look at Harley-Davidson, right? Not trying to knock any particular business, but please check around before you spend the money...

This was from nukeday on another form.

No problem. Nukeday pass the info on to me so I thought I would do the same. I would hate to see another Luv partner get something that was junk.

so i think this weekend im going to be making some moulds, any ideas for them at all? i was thinking of jsut using the old parts for moulds but then i realized the measurements would be off... I am going to start by making some head light bezel since i have heard or 2 people that are looking for them, i have teh 4 head light setup bezels on my LUV now but i think i got a set of older ones that i took off around here some where that ide be making them out of first though since those are the ones the people seem to want right now... Ill take pics too when im done, and if its a success then its off to bigger things 8O hope its works...

You need to make sure your parts are in good shape before pulling your molds off them. You may want to check into making plastic parts if you want to make them... The internet is your friend 8)
