Wonder if it will weaken my frame much if I drill a hole all the way through from the bottom to bolt a piece of rectangle tubing for my tranny mount.

OK nix the hole through the frame. Won't work. Just like mytmouz/ Got to weld the angle iron on and mount my tubing there.
My frame is now 9 inches off the floor in the front without bars or coils and no cab or fenders. The space on the shocks went from 14 1/2 extended to 10 1/2.
Now what do I do. Someone help me out here. The shocks I am watching are at 93 dollars. if I get those will the springs raise up my front or hold it up Is my shocks now bottomed out at this point? I luv the height of my truck now LOL
My motor has a 1/2 tilt to the back and my drive shaft is almost straight to the rear end the way everything is setting now.
Item number: 140222197736 Wonder if these would work also on ebay

You can change the ride height (to a certain extent) by tightening the coils. And those Afco's are pretty spendy, look for those to go way up towards the end of the auction.

Actually after I cut my metal tonight i think I will weld the xbar to the angle iron and bolt the member to the frame through the angle just like s-10's on one side. Should be plenty strong.

Still aint going got the mount made. Trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill I think. Trying to make it look halfway professional looking. oh well, got nothing but time.
Didn't win the coil overs on ebay. Guess I'll end up buying new before it is over. Stud mounts are hard to find used it seems.
TCI said I need to go with 180 lb springs but have to get the eye mount.
Still watching the 17 inch afco's

Wonder if you really need the rubber mount under the tranny or if I can bolt the tranny right to the cross member solid like a motor.

It depends, if you have solid mounts for the engine then you need the rubber tranny mount. I always run one though, regardless...

Was wondering on coil overs do they need to be the length of the extended control arm now with the original shock still on or can I use longer or shorter ones if they will work.

Jack up the truck to access the front. Safety first! Then remove one of the front wheels and the corresponding shock. Now let the A arm hang free and measure from the shock mount points. That will be the extended length. If the shock is shorter than that it can cause problems. Now jack up the a arm and get someone to press down on the bumper. This will be your compressed length. You want the shock to still have some compression when you have it mounted. If you have a distance of 10 compressed and 15 extended then you would like to have 9.5 and 15.5 on your shocks.

That will work, but if your shock is too short, it will extend only to the length of the shock, not the true extended length.

Well heck. I took the shock off but left the wheel and tire on when I measured this morning. 15 extended 11 when I set the front back down on the floor and stood on the frame.
Still might go for those afcos they are still cheap with 2 hours left. Only thing is the sprin might be too heavy at 400 lbs.
Might give up for a bit and work on my cab and painting my frame.
