i went to home depot the other day to pick up some stuff for the house and found out they carry lexan. they have it in different sizes and thickness also rating on breakage. they had tinted and clear i didn`t see any big enough to do a windshield. but they did have sizes big enough for the money wise racer to replace there back and side widows. so when i get my cage thats where i will be going to replace the back glass. the price for a piece to do the back was under 20 bones. i just thought this might help someone on a budget like me. i asked a local race how much rear lexan would cost me not installed 150.00bones, that`s a pretty decent savings.later all

Hey racelife,
The lexan from home depot does a good job for rear windows.Afriend of mine uses it for the rear window of 51 chevy p/u.It looks good enough for street use and the techs at the track never looked twice. :drinking:

There are different grades of Lexan. The back glass for mine cost $60.00. If you get the cheap stuff it will discolor after a while.

yea they have it in different grades. i just thought someone else out there as cheap as me would be able to use it. i saw an ad from a company the other day they wanted 250.00 a piece for side windows and like 1100.00 for the front. i can buy many years worth of the home depot stuff for that price.later

I know I'm dredging up ancient stuff here, but I'm curious as to how you guys use this lexan? Is that another term for plexiglass, or is it different? Also, the stuff at home depot is, of course, straight, How do you bend it for the windsheild without it cracking or pulling the sealing rubber out over time? Also, that company that manufactures these things? Know the website? And finally, Does anyone know how you would make or find a windshield for a chopped top? I'm sure it would have to be custom, not sure a autoglass place would do it.
