While on the subject of hinges, i've noticed that alot of trucks have broken spring assy's on the lower hinges. Is this a cronic problem that many face?

I have not gotten to the bottom hinge but with a little work # 38390 in the HELP! section will work on the top. They are Chrysler bushings and I didn't use the pin. They fit the hinge but use a 1/4" pin instead of the 8mm or 5/16" the Luv originally used. At the local Hardware store I found bushing that were 5/16" Outside and 1/4" inside this allows for the use of a 1/4" grade 8 bolt and a nylon lock nut for a pin. You will have to file or grind the hinge for a little clearance on the thrust side of the bushings but with a little time and effort you can have a tight door hinge again.

I guess that is better that an old tractor tire sidewall. That was gonna be my next attempt at making body bushings.
