Ok need some help here. I am wanting to put an s 10 fuse block in my Luv. Probably don't need it but want to go to the new type fuses.
Were do I get the power from for the battery fuses. Direct from the battery right.
What about the ignition fuses. Just from the ignition side of my switch?
Does my headlight swith wire into the fuse panel for my indicator lamps. What about the trun signal circuit. Were does it come from.
I unwrapped all the wires from the old fuse block to the inside of the truck.
I want to use the new fuse block for my fuel pump, electric fan and electric water pump which will be all on separate toggles.
I assume my ignition toggle must be inline with my push button start.
Doing away with the key switch.
Any help will be appreciated. I can't find any diagrams on the net unless I am not looking in the right spot.
Also were does my volt guage hook to. My battery is in the back and I have a ford solenoid and a junction box I am mounting on the inside under the dash.

Wow...where do I begin?

First off - why wouldn't you just get an aftermarket fuseblock and replicate exactly what you have now - then add whatever else you need?

Or just get out your solder gun and modify your existing fuse box to take blade fuses - plus add a small aftermarket fuseblock to include whatever else you need?

:smt017 Huh???

I'm not entirely sure just what exactly it is you are trying to accomplish with your truck - but most problems people have with a Luv's wiring comes from not getting busy on a nearly 30 year old Luv's fusebox plus all of the necessary grounds and connections for it's electrical system that really need to be cleaned completely and corrosion free for it all to work properly.

If you are doing a V8 or V6 swap - then IMHO I suggest you get the wiring diagram for your truck, (you can download it from here: http://www.luvtruck.com/Information.htm), then figure out what you need for the new engine/ transmission combo and whatever else you are adding. Then decide what changes and conversions you will need, map it all out on paper, and go from there.

For the last major conversion like that I did, I blew up the wiring diagram, mapped everything out with the right colored fine-tipped markers to match the wiring, then I took it over to Kinko's and had it plastic-coated. (I gave it to the new owner when I sold the car - and the guy was real happy to get it...lol)

Good luck.

Actually Taz all I am wanting to do is update to a new fuse block with the spades. All my wiring is intact and have not had any problems.
I just happened to have the spare s 10 block and thought I would try and use it. I won't be using any asseceries to speak of except for my dash gauges, I assume I will put my brakes. turn signal and hazard on the battery side.
I guess my electirc fan and fuel pump and tach will be on the ignition,
My dash lights on the assecery side. Pretty simple and straight forward as for as item. Just need to know were I get my main power to the block from. Looks like the original come from the ignition swith which i will not be using. I am going to a toggle and push button start.

Why? There are decent working ignition switchs with keys for Luv's available. And any used Luv ignition switch can be re-keyed by most locksmiths reasonably cheap.

Your truck would get stolen pretty quick around here where I live with that toggle and push button start setup you are planning. (And I live in a good neighborhood with my truck parked under a big motion-detecting security light right in my driveway behind my house.)

I have a hidden toggle switch that completely disables my truck's ignition plus I installed stainless steel window visors on mine - because Luvs don't have any steering lock and these trucks are pretty easy to break into and real easy to hot-wire if some lousy freakin' thief wants to try to steal 'em.

And when I go anywhere for any length of time without my Luv, I always lock my truck in my garage with the alarm on.

My truck's insured as much as it can possibly be - but I sure as hell didn't build it to go out to get in it and find it gone. I've had a nice ride stolen before (that like a dumbass I didn't have enough insurance on) and when the cops finally caught the rotten thievin' bastard that stole it and I got it back - it was pretty much trashed.

Just my $.02 worth...

My truck is mainly strip and cruises. Doesn't stay out unless I am there. I have the main cutoff under the license plate. Guess i would have to use the push button just was kinda wanting to. Could keep the key I guess. Just a pain. Mainly wanting to upgrade the block.

Oh man there is 1000 answers to your question. The simple way I would think for you would be to find an aftermarket fuse block and replace your existing box. With the existing wire harness.

For my keyswitch I use a buton to spin the motor and the factory key to supply the ingnition.( hold the button down to get the motor spinning then flip the key to fire, same as having a button and switch but keeping the key.

As to your original question, my main feed from battery goes from the battery side of my ford solenoid to the "hot" side of the fuse block and then to the big post of my three wire alternator.

But if you do this remember to use a circuit breaker or fuseable link from the battery side of the solenoid.
