Ok. I have a 79' with a rusty rocker panel that has a hole that you could stick your finger through and I was wondering what the best method of replacing it is. If I cut it out and welded a good piece of metal in would it have a tendency to rust? Thanks.

found a site that will make custom rocker panels
http://www.pickupspecialties.com/rocker_panels/Rocker_panels_Chevy.htm
You have to scroll down to the bottoms of the page under minitrucks:
The price for the 72-80 $119. Not sure if that is each or a pair.

Am I reading your website correctly??? It says that you have some Chevy LUV rocker pannels.
Luv LB
81-84 RP753201 $ 69.00 Fit B
72-80 RP753203 $119.00 Fit B
Luv SWB
81-84 RP753202 $ 69.00 Fit B
72-80 RP753204 $119.00 Fit B
Sorry... usually things like this are typo's or forgotten part numbers for LUV trucks. I just want to make sure before I get too excited.

Thanks for your time,
Erron

All fit B's are under the door.

Has anyone bought anything from these people yet?

Those are only SS covers for the rocker panels. Look at the top of the page and click on the instructions. And it shows that they glue on and are only SS covers.
Man I wish they were the real thing.
You know I bet if we got enough people together. We may be able to get someone to built a round of panels for us.

That is a good idea Pete. Find a shop that willing to make up some.
The rocker panels aren't too complicated of a shape.

Anything that will work. but the ones above are to cover up the bad ones. Not replacements. That or I was reading it wrong.

i would think that replacement parts should be made of the same material as the original, and you would want to be able to weld them in place of the old ones once they are removed
