Doesn't finding stuff like this just make your day? :?

This just set my paint job on my truck back one more day. I almost wish I hadn't decided to replace my crappy old rusted-out fender now - because then I wouldn't have found this.

This probably explains the crappy paint job and the tons of bondo that I've already got rid of when I switched beds.

GRRR...freakin' lazy people!! :x

I can fix that, my dad is a TV repair man and has a awesome set of tools.

Actually it is better to find it now then after any paint, it sucks but looks like a blessing in disguise.

Yeah...I guess I'm just getting cranky because there has already been a few too many delays with painting my Luv and I'm anxious to get it completely done and back on the road... :(

Fortunately I know where I can get a decent core support off a friend's rusted-out parts truck that's about to be scrapped, and I have cheapo sand blaster, so the pain should be minimal.

I just pulled the other fender and took everything loose, and thank goodness the inner fender on the damaged side isn't too badly banged up and can be straightened out. :?

I think I'll just drill out the tack welds and glue and pop-rivet the new core support on. I've got a tube of good strong adhesive, and I have an air-powered rivetter and a ton of pop rivets.
