I cant seem to find any torque spec's for the 4 bolts on the front crossmember. Can anyone help?

And another question.... Ive noticed in my book that there are different series... usually there have been 5 ft-lbs torque difference... someone want to enlighten me on how I figure out what "series" I have.

Some parts of the book say "series 1, 2, II, 5, 6 ect ect.." and they have two torque specs (or more) for one component.

Your 78 would be a series 8. But not all the years are in sink like that. just so you know.

The first year LUV was available was 1972, this is the series 1, 1973 was series 2, 1974 was series 3, 1975 was series 4, 1976 was series 5, 1977 was series 6. There is no series 7. 1978 was series 8, 1979 was series 9 and 1980 was series 10.

my book says the series go up to 12
It has several references for "series 11 and 12"

Im just gunna run with series 8 then... thanks

Still cant find anything about the front crossmemeber tho :(

Guess I will just torque them to the bolts unified spec's if I cant find it in the book.
Yeah yeah yeah... I know... most people would just tighten them to the German good-n-tight spec's.
Id like to keep things in spec for as much of it as I can, just the way I am I guess.

Series 11 = 1981 and series 12 = 1982.

As far as torque goes on frame members just go tight.
