Thats what i used with a non-GM column. Its really kind of easy its really really teadious. All the wires on the painless system are labeled were they need to go but the hard part is finding out which wires are what on the stock wireing harness. If you print out the wireing diagram on the info section it will help you out a lot. Mine came out pretty good and everything works like a charm. IF you need any more help i'll be glad to help.

Well im replacing everything, starting from scratch if you will. All the factory switches and stuff are getting replaced, probly just with toggles in the dash. So i dont think IDing anything on the factory harness will be an issue, i was planning on just ripping it all out and starting over with new switches gages ect...

Well thats what i thought when i did mine. I'll tell you there are a few sections of wire that your going to need from the stock harness. One is the sectoin of wire that goes to your windshield wiper motor to the switch and then to the windshield washer motor(if your going to use it, If not then no biggie). Another is the The section of wire that comes from both tail lights and plugs into the main harness. Those are the two main ones i can think of but if your useing all new switches then it should make things a little easier. Oh yeah, and the connectors from the blinker and hazard switches. New gauges are a breeze also. I put all aftermarket gauges in my truck and they work great. Just a word of advice though, hang on to that stock harness untill your finished cuz i can allmost bet that your gonna need something from it. Hope this helps and good luck.
