i want to do something with my front suspension in the luv, im putting an injected 3.8 buick engine in it from a commodore (aussie car =P) the stock suspension would probbably cope with it, im just worried about the torsion bars getting in the way. i was thinking about coil overs but i have no idea on how to set it up. ive dont a disk brake conversion but would like to make it a 5 stud pattern as well, but thats not a high priority at this time.
any suggestions....?

thanks in advance

How do you think a 3.8 exhaust would be hampered by the stock LUV torsion system?

Seems to me it would fit without much issues at all.
Leave the torsions in and have a REALLY GOOD muffler shop route your exhaust properly; should be no problem!

Your coilover desires should be resolved if you do a simple search here on this site just by typing in CoilOver in the search selection.
There is one done here that is a simple and direct approach to this.

I will pass on the 5-lug bolt pattern for someone else to chime in with their suggestions!

Coilovers are super easy to install, how low they will go I dont know but I have about 2 1/2 inches to adjust with mine. It will open up tons of room underneath and if you build a crossmember you can save some weight to. Just get a good set of scales and find out the weight that is sitting on each front wheel.

if you wont to go with bags in the front or back ok for the front there is a kit that you can buy that will fit nice have you done this type of custom stuff before if you have not then you need to have someone that can do it for you if you have then you can buy a kit and go from there but there is a lot of details to tend to and it is hard to say each detail and not forget one where are you at if you call brett at 559-784-5887 that is KUTS R US he can send you the stuff you need or whatever you need bags, tank, comp he is in porterville, california or you can go to the web http://www.KUTSRUS.com

What is wrong with the torsion bars they are not that hard to get around.I had a 283 chev in mine the first time and put the exhaust around the bars to side pipes. Now it has a 455 Buick in it and the bars do just fine as for lowering your truck thats all in good but you can only lower these trucks so far before drivability becomes an issue. As for your 5 hole disc set up there are several ways i came up with the toyota front rotor conversion,Blackluv is tying to get his S10 setup perfected an i hope he dose and then there is the aftermarket setup.Just some food for thought.
