I have the wheel set on the hub well enough I can now see I am outside the lip. My goal was to have wheel/tire inside 100%, even if it's close. I just like that look better. Chances are if I lowered the back end (it's on jacks now in the pics above) my tires would hit the fender. I have 15 x 8 wheel and a 255/60/15 and I do not plan on narrowing my rear end as it's too expensive for me to do to a street daily driver.

Judging from my pictures what width rim do you think will fit under the wheel well or do you think it's just the tire? Anyone able to tell me the rim width + tire size they use on a basically stock-width rear end that keeps them under the wheel wells? I have tried contacting a few people who are in the owners pictures area and they don't respond as yet.

I hope Im not looking at purchasing new rear wheels but I'll do what I have to.

Thanks in advance

I would say those are going to hit. Here is a pic of my setup. I have 15x7's with 215/60's on it and 3" blocks. I pretty much have my truck riding on the bumpstops as I took them out and I rubbed going over bumps, your rims are an inch wider, not sure what my backspacing is but you can tell from the pics, your rims stick out farther. If you want flush, those rims are defiantly too wide.

I Am Afraid I Am Going To Have To Agree. They Look Like They Would Scrub Even With Narrower Tires.

They Look Good On There Though :?

I am not a fan of tires sticking past fenders, but is your truck and you get to make the final decision.

Have you looked for a wheel with more backspacing? Not sure how much room you have but as long as clearence is not a problem thats the way to go that way you can keep your wide tire.

Nope sorry I think the are as far forward as they will make them. I barely have any lip on them. I bought those back in the early 90's and dont have the truck with me to measure for you. I do know that I dont have much space between the rim and the frame. Thats the thing I hate about the LUV, I luv a deep dish rim and you just cant do it with the stock suspsension. I have 10" wide rims tucked on the back of my S10 with no problems.

Due To The Rear End I Have I Will Be Having To Use A 6" Back Spacing on A 9" Wide Wheel. But They Look Sweet on There.

Does anyone know the biggest widest that will fit on a stock Luv front and Rear?

Looks like we have some 15x8 that fit the back if the rim has the right offset. How bought up front? any one tried 16, 18, 20's? pictures would be great-thanks

Yeah I agree with GS11X: I want to know what is the offset and backspace I need to have with like a 15 X 7 or 15 X 8.

offset/backspace will depend on axle width . I have 15 x 8 4" back space and mine are flush. My axle is 52" wheel mount flange to wheel mount flange . Correct me if I'm wrong but S-10 rears are 54" , This is a 255/60/15 on a 15 x 8 rally wheel with 4" back space on 52" ford 9" axle

Image

This is the same axle with a 15 x 7 with a 4.5" back space . they were right on the spring . Hopes this helps.

Image

Almost looks like a 54" axle with a 3 " back space on the rim . But I'm just guessing . Measure from the part that fits up against the drum to the edge and give us the back space .

Ive lost all my pictures as my computer is crapping out.

7's are a comfy fit if you get the back space right.

The front is worse than the rear to get right on one of these if you want fat rubber.

I have 16x7's off a late trooper here for mine, not sure if the front is going to work but im planning on putting a wider track diff in to get the rears in. 4" wider track for the back and i figure i need an inch each side on the front if i can.
I will use mine as a workhorse on the odd occasion so i want a bit of tyre to spring clearance to reduce the chance of rubbing and damaging a tyre.

One thing you might be able to do is have the wheel arches on your tub massaged out or flared. Your paint is not done so it should be easy enough. I was considering doing the flare thing to my truck.

Cheers, Bob.
