I saw this on "another " site I just bumped onto. It is possible that the ausie co. now has a place up in Wa.

For those who may not be familiar with this, there is an outfit that
sells reproduction dash pads for Chevy Luv trucks. The last time I
spoke with them was approx 3 yrs ago when their entire company was
then based in Austrailia. The cost for ONE of these units was around
(cough) $450.00 (cough) ...this was 3 yrs ago.

Anyway, a young man called me this morning inquiring on this, so I got
to looking. They have now branched into the USA & are manufacturing in
Washington state. Hopefully this has brought the cost down somewhat,
but I have not spoke with them about this just yet. Will keep yall
updated as I learn more. Here's a link to thier site within for those who
might like to inquire further....

Yea. He got or left the Yahoo deal he had and started a new site with virtually the same format as this one. We have a couple ppl here that are also there, which is no big deal to us, but according to some of his posts, it's a big deal to him.

This info about the dashes is really the only helpfull thing I saw.

From what ol whats his name posted on his site was that it was the same company. So if you talked to that company and they said nothing about it, it's probably not true. Which I'm not surprised, considering the source of my info.

I paid $549.34 american shipped to my door on 3-20-2006. At the time it was 400.00 Aus for the dash and 350.00 Aus shipping. So with the exchange rate at that time it was 750.00 Aus or 549.34 American.

Someone needs to buy one of those dashes and make a mold out of it out of fiberglass. Grease the mold and then fill it with expansion foam. Presto, you have a dash factory. The only trick is how to cover it. A good upholstery shop should be able to do that. If I had a good dash I'd do it and charge $200 American for each.

Hi Bullit, 8O

Building molds are easier said than done. If it was as easy as you think they would have little girls making them.
I have spent countless hours on making the inner and outer fiberglass door molds and to profect them so I know what I am talking about.
I have also waisted a lot of materials and time trying to make the early valance out of fiberglass.
I wish someone in the injection molding business would step up because I believe the demand for Luv parts is getting greater every day.

Chuck
