I'm thinking about going to aftermarket guages. Anyone have any suggetions? Also maybe some backing plate? or Just trace the shape of insturment panel and cut it out of some sheetmetal?

My gauges were black faced Autometer gauges with a solid peice of billet aluminum in the shape of the instrument panel. Also had one put in place of the glove box door, since I didn't have one.

I think Ben brought up a good trick a while back, get a spare glove box door and cut out the gauge holes in it. It is the same shape/size and would match the trim perfectly.

I'm going to go measure my glove box door now. If that works, thats a great idea. =-P

Don't know if you like white faced gauges or not but look at iequus.com.
You can pick them up pretty cheap. And they have a speedo now so, you can match all the gauges.
