Im going to install some new seat belts in my truck. The original floppy strap set are a pain. I have a question about later model LUVs with retracting belts. Does the retracting mechanism share the same mount point as the strap end? Or do they have separate mounting points.
The seat belts im buying are slated to fit the LUV, but since i have the original floppy strap setup, do i need to do some mods?

I believe you'll need to do some mods, though you might be able to just mount the retractor and belt end with the same bolt.

My 75 has the retractor bolted to the side of the cab behind the seat, and the belt is bolted to the bench seat pivot point.

My 76 has the retractor bolted to the same spot on the side of the cab behind the seat, but the belt bolts to another hole on the side of the cab about 4 inches farther forward.

Well, i should have known that it would need some tweaking. At first, i was just using the lap sections of the belts but after getting pulled over, i was told if the vehicle has the shoulder option, it must be used. The original floppy style belts are a twisted hassle and i've gotten accustomed to the sholder strap so getting a retracting type belt would be more user friendly.
After i get the belts, i can figure out how to add some bushing inserts to the cab OR, mount the retract assy to the floor and use the stock mount point for the strap end.
