When the guys on this site said an electronic dist. was the way to go i got one on E-Bay bought a new cap and rotor and had it changed out in about 15 min.s and boy it dose make the motor run and idle MUCH better. My dist. is of the 83 up trooper PUP style that is a fully contained (no external ignitor) i also have the part numbers for the cap and rotor if needed.

The advantage of the intake swap is better air flow and the carb is a bolt on (no adapters) the header flows better than the manifold a big plus when putting in more fuel air it is nice to get it out better. The cams that Taz recommends is a big boost in power. So with the Weber, header, intake, cam, and a elect.dist you will just about double the power of your motor and may i suggest you balance the rotating assembly for reliabuilty and a slight gain in power as well.

if your truck is a 4x2 and has 4.55s, going 4.10 and or 5 speed will help mpg a lot.

each one will drop rpms about 300~ish

you can go to 3.73s and just stay with the 4 speed. thats the best for, good mpg, being fastest to do. and the cheepest for a 4x2. in my opinion.
though you have to find one. :(

but a 12 bolt, from a 88 to 95 2.6L isuzu truck. will handel a small block much better.
