I got my Weber installed; only paid $25 for it. Put a new rebuild kit in it and it sounds great runs smooth and all but 2 things. One, slight hesitation when punched. Two, under load it makes a ticking kind of whistle? Don’t know what it is, it does not do it at idle or in neutral and reving the engine any ideas on what this could be :?:

I had the same problem awhile back and it ended up being that the accelerator pump wasnt opening all the way.

just a thought :?

I had the problem on my stock carb so I dont know if it's the same as the weber. But anyways there is a lever thats connected to the throttle and on the middle of the lever theres a bolt holding it tight alowing it to pivot when the throttle is applied. When the gas pedal is pused it pushes up on the lever and the other side pushes down the accelerator pump. The bolt in the middle holding it on was loose and the lever was wobbling every time I hit the gas.I will try to get a picture of it.

I hate to break it to ya,but you probably won't be able to get rid of that hesatation untill you get an electronic ignition and the carb re-jetted. somewhere in a post on here I wrote my jet's down and the settings are for a slightly more agressive cam operating inbetween 1000-4000 ft elevation.

the electronic ignition REALLY made the difference on my truck. technicly the weber 32-36 is a little too big for the luv 1.8so having an ignition that can burn the extra fuel and air really helps. Redline recomend not having points and says that you'll never get the carb tuned right without ei.

According to the explosion view of the carb it shows them in the accel. Pump cover and it is original casting no screw to take out to get to the jets like on the diagram

32/36 DGV series should have idle jets right out in the open. It is items 33, 34, and 35 on the exploded diagram I have, ignore the dotted line showing them pointed in the wrong place. Draw a line through the middle of each of those three parts and that is about where they are. Look for a sorta fat brass screw thing on the primary side (just rear of the accel pump) and a smaller similar screw on the secondary. Once out, the end pointed into the carb (the actual jet) seperates from the screw portion, but they look solid at first glance.

I've recently gotten really familiar with mine. Gas around here just switched to "oxygenated" and the methanol additive has let all the gunk that was happily stuck in my carb float loose. Every day or so a chunk finds its way into an idle jet. Next time I have them out I'll try to remember to get the number off them.

Ok found what you where talking about but didn’t take them apart to get the size figure its all stock. I did gat a timing light and adjusted the timing it was 8 deg off point gap was about .55 not .45 so adjusted that and found very small exhaust leak at the rear if the header, the last 2 bolt not in all the way and the flat spot stuck out just enough not to be able to tighten the nuts all the way. Made big difference and the rest will come when I get electronic ignition. Thanks for the help guys
