So I just completed my V8 swap and I have evrything wired up[thanks D.] but the Alt. so I am not charging. Dennis brought over some copies of the article about Altenator swappin from here, but it doesnt say anything about removing the stock regulator. So my question is to those of you that have V8's. What do I need to do, or remove or whatever to get my truck to charge. THANKS AGAIN!!! T.

Well figured it out, and to those that are in the process of doin a V8 swap, heres a little tip. Don't get the altenator with the built in regulator, Get the 1 wire Alt. { a 67 nova is the one I got } with no regulator. Wires right up, and you don't have to tear anything up.

I used the integral regulator type GM alt.On the 2 prong plug you run the red wire to the battery terminal on the back on the alt. Then just hook up your battery wire from your harness and take out the regulator. I had the ext type alt before and had problems later on. A old time mechanic showed me how to fix the earlier problem. Mine has been like that for over 15yrs and no problem
