would it be withing reason to ask if a straight 6 would fit in the luv, cause "my uncle said the dam thing ways more than the truck.", so just wondering, also something my grandpa said to me when i said i was going to get a new engine when i got enough $$$$ he said i should put a 12cyl deisel in there (he told me to put it in the back and run the belts directly to the axel) instead of he 6 i was thinking about.

never seen one with either. the straight 6 will present some challenges because there is 6 cylinders in the same bank so its a long motor as opposed to a V8 which has 4 cylinders on two banks. u will have trouble finding room for a radiator in the front of the truck unless you mod the firewall and set the motor back some. you are better off with a V8 or V6

I would have to agree with luvsadrag, A straight 6 would be long and I dont think you could even come close to getting a 12cyl diesel in a luv either. I have seen a big block chevy motor mounted behind the cab of a luv, the frame is stretched and it runs like 6,7, or 8 sec Q/M, I cant remember what the guy said. Anyway just invest in a 327, 350, or like me a 400. We know it will fit and a small block will have plenty of power 8) Good luck with what ever you choose.
