Only thing I've ever seen are Sylvania SilverStar headlight bulbs that are direct fit. (For 2 headlight trucks) I hear they are comparable to HID lighting, much whiter than standard halogens.

You can also get H4 conversion kits from quite a few places like Hella, Cibie, and others. (for both 4 and 2 headlight LUVs) These are a Lens/reflector that fits the LUV headlight bucket and takes a standard H4 sealed bulb. I was thinking of going to a set of these and then using Silverstar H4 bulbs, all this after going to a relay directly off the battery for the lights of course though.

If you are looking for headlights that look the same look but have different color or somesuch, lookfor 6024 bulbs for two light systems, 5004 I believe for 4s. I have not seen any kits to do any different looking lights front or rear. It would be nice to have clear lenses in the rear as an option. Maybe someone should hit up companies that do that sort of thing to make up a set. Not that I think it would work, but it never hurts to ask.

I have seen a couple luvs converted to square lights. I think one used parts from a VW rabbit, but both were done with a fair bit of custom fab work.

Lookin in the pic gallery I have seen lots of mods with lights and what not, and myself personally do not like most that I have seen. I would really like to find something that was stock!

If you are just looking for more/better light wiring in a relay setup to power the headlights directly off the battery would be a good start. Basically you get a couple of relays, run wire from the battery to the switched side of the relay and then to the lights. Then you use the existing high and low beam wires to switch the relays. Bypassing all the wiring in the truck for the headlights' power and having them run right off the bat gives them quite a bit more juice. http://www.partsexpress.com has some 30 amp relays that would do the job for less than $1 each.

Silverstar bulbs give a better color to the light they put out making it easier to see in the dark. I was going to put some in, but at $25 a bulb I figured I'd wait until one of the plain halogens I've got go out.

I haven't noticed anything on the Internet about reworking taillights that would adapt to the Luv.
But i must agree with 800xl on reworking the headlights. First and foremost, the stock 20 awg is sub-standard and the fact that it's 22 to 32 years old doesn't help matters. I reworked my headlights to H-4 and it was a very good mod for the little money i put in to it. And yes i upgraded the wiring to 12 awg with seperate relays for hi and low beam. Even just going with new wiring and relays with halogen lights and eliminating the stock incandesent sealed beams will make a great difference. Just as a safety issue, this mod should be a high priority to any street legal Luv truck.
New wiring, 2 relays, connectors and sealed halogen headlights, you can have good reliable lighting for around 60 bucks!

I'm not sure if those are just composite housings. I'm led to believe that they are because they dont mention if they will plug to the stock headlight connector or how many watts/candle power they are. If you're set to go that route, you'll need to get bulbs to go with them. If you want to reuse the stock headlight connectors, H-4 bulbs are the ones you'll need.

Here's a link that goes in to this in detail.

im pretty sure they are 5 1/4 inch, i got a H4 conversion kit for my luv, the only thing is i had to make the holder bigger to fit the dust cover through and also a hole for the parkers. i think those really bright headlights are called xenon bulbs or something like that. there not that expensive
